FAQs Com X

BEFORE YOU DECIDE

A FEW THINGS YOU MIGHT BE WONDERING.

Before you spend anything, here are the questions we’d want answered too.

What COM X actually does. What it doesn’t do. What each product is for. What we can help with. What we cannot promise. And whether any of it makes sense for where your business is right now.

BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE Don’t buy more than you need.

If $80 solves the problem, stop there. If the words aren’t the bottleneck, don’t buy the Script just because it’s cheaper.

01 What exactly is COM X?

COM X is built around a problem we kept running into as a federal prime contractor: finding opportunities was only useful if we could actually build the subcontractor side of the bid.

We teach the language, sourcing, qualification, follow-up, pricing conversations, bid workflow, and operating habits that help a contractor move from “I found an opportunity” to “I can actually pursue it.”

02 I’m new to federal contracting. Am I too early for this?

Maybe for the Masterclass. Not necessarily for the other resources. You do not need years of awards behind you to benefit from learning how to speak with subcontractors, review a solicitation, organize pricing, and build a repeatable process.

But if you are still deciding whether federal contracting is something you even want to pursue, keep learning first. We would rather have you buy later for the right reason than now for the wrong one.

03 I already have subcontractors. Why would I need COM X?

If your existing network reliably covers the locations and trades you pursue, responds on time, gives you usable pricing, and helps you bid without scrambling, you may not need us.

The problem usually shows up when the next solicitation is in a different city, needs a different trade, or your usual sub is booked. A network is stronger when it can expand without forcing you to reinvent your process every time.

04 Can’t I just Google subcontractors and call them myself?

Yes. In fact, you should.

Finding a phone number is not the hard part. The harder part is knowing who is worth calling, getting through the first conversation without over-explaining, determining whether they can actually perform, getting the scope in front of them, following up without sounding desperate, and turning interest into usable pricing.

COM X isn’t the phone book. It’s what happens after you find the number.
05 How do I know this isn’t just another government-contracting course?

Good question. There is plenty of federal-contracting education online. COM X is deliberately narrower.

We built these resources from the conversations and operating problems we encountered while pursuing and performing real federal work: suspicious subcontractors, busy estimators, ghosting, scope gaps, site visits, pricing conversations, proposal documents, and the scramble that happens when a bid deadline does not care whether your process is ready.

You should judge COM X on whether that specific problem is your problem — not on whether we can make the biggest promise.

06 Why should I trust a script? Won’t I sound robotic?

The goal is not to read a script at somebody. The goal is to understand the logic well enough that you can stop thinking about what comes next.

Our own communication material emphasizes calm, low-pressure language, talking less, not becoming defensive, and treating the subcontractor relationship as mutual evaluation. The framework should make you sound more normal, not less.

Project. Location. Scope. Bid date. What we’re looking for. Then listen.
07 What if subcontractors think I’m a middleman or that the opportunity is a scam?

That happens. Our own training material specifically deals with objections like “Is this a scam?”, “Are you a middleman?”, “We already got called”, and “Why should we work with you?”

The lesson is not to get defensive and unload a five-minute explanation. Stay calm, clarify your role truthfully, explain the project status clearly, and determine whether there is a fit. Suspicion is usually a reason to communicate more precisely — not more desperately.

08 I need to think about it. Is there any reason I need to buy today?

No fake countdown timer here.

Think about the actual bottleneck. If you are consistently losing time because you do not know what to say, cannot get subs moving, or keep rebuilding the same bid process from scratch, then solving that sooner has value. If that is not happening yet, there is no reason for us to manufacture urgency for you.

A useful question is: what happens if nothing changes before your next good opportunity?

09 I need to talk to my partner or team first.

You probably should if they are involved in the decision or will be using the system.

Send them the product page and ask one question together: what specific problem are we trying to solve? If the answer is “the calls,” look at the Script. If it is the repeatable bid process, look at the System. If the company needs direct involvement, review the Masterclass qualifier together.

10 $80 for a script? Why not just use AI or write my own?

You can. The $80 is not for access to sentences that no one else could possibly write.

It is for the shortcut in understanding the moments we had to learn through actual subcontractor conversations: the opening, talking less, suspicion, objections, follow-up, ghosting, getting the bid, pricing, power phrases, and the awkward moments in between.

If you already handle those conversations comfortably, keep your $80.

11 Why is the Acquisition System $480 if information about federal contracting exists online?

Because information is not the same thing as an operating system.

The System organizes the workflow around a real bid: opportunity → solicitation → past performance → subcontractors → pricing → estimate → technical package → safety documentation → submission.

It also includes the Script and reusable examples/templates so you are not opening a blank document every time. The value is less searching, less rebuilding, and a shorter path from “what do I do next?” to execution.

12 Why is the Masterclass custom pricing?

Because direct involvement is not identical from company to company.

Company size, number of participants, support level, implementation depth, and what you actually need help with can change the engagement. We would rather understand that first than force every contractor into the same package.

The Masterclass qualifier exists for exactly that reason.

13 What if I buy the wrong COM X product?

Start by not buying based on price alone.

Need the words? Script. Need the process? Acquisition System. Need direct implementation help? Masterclass.

Also remember that the Acquisition System includes the Xpert Script. If you already know you need the broader workflow, do not buy both separately.

14 What’s the difference between the Xpert Script and Acquisition System?

The Xpert Script is the communication layer: what to say on the first call, voicemail, follow-up, objections, bid requests, and pricing conversations.

The Acquisition System is the broader workflow. It includes the Script, then expands into sourcing and qualifying subs, solicitation review, pricing and estimates, past performance, technical responses, safety/project documentation, packaging the bid, and submission.

15 What makes the Masterclass different from buying the System?

The System gives you the framework and resources. The Masterclass gives you direct involvement.

It is designed around real decisions: bid/no-bid, subcontractor teams, pricing, proposals, project management, change orders, documentation, and building repeatable operations. The point is not more content. The point is having another experienced set of eyes in the room.

16 Do I have to buy the Script before the System or Masterclass?

No. This is not a forced product ladder.

The Acquisition System already includes the Script. The Masterclass is application-based because we first want to understand whether direct involvement makes sense for your company.

17 Can you guarantee I’ll win federal contracts?

No.

The government controls award decisions. Competition, price, technical requirements, past performance, responsiveness, funding, and other factors can affect the outcome.

COM X focuses on improving the pieces you can control: preparation, subcontractor acquisition, communication, pricing workflow, documentation, and the repeatability of your process.

Better process? Yes. Guaranteed award? No.
18 Can you guarantee subcontractors will answer me or send a bid?

No. A subcontractor can be booked, uninterested, outside the service area, slow to respond, or simply decide not to price the project.

What you can improve is how quickly you determine fit, how clearly you communicate, how professionally you follow up, when you move on, and whether you build enough relationships that one “no” does not kill the opportunity.

A fast no is useful.

19 What if I’m already getting bids but still not winning?

Then subcontractor acquisition may not be your primary constraint.

Look at the rest of the chain: opportunity selection, scope coverage, quote comparison, estimate structure, technical response, past performance, compliance, and overall pricing. That is where the Acquisition System becomes more relevant than the standalone Script.

If those pieces are already mature and you want direct help pressure-testing decisions, the Masterclass may make more sense.

20 How quickly should I expect this to work?

The language can improve your next conversation. A real subcontractor network takes repetition.

You still have to make the calls, send the scopes, follow up, review the numbers, document what worked, and keep good relationships alive. COM X is meant to shorten the learning curve — not remove the work.

21 What if I still have a question before I buy?

If it is about which level fits, the Solutions page gives you the cleanest comparison. If you are considering the Masterclass, use the qualifier on the Masterclass page.

We would rather help you identify the right level than push you into the biggest one.

WHAT WE’RE REALLY TRYING TO DO

Make the next opportunity feel less improvised.

01

Know what to say.

02

Know what comes next.

03

Know when to move on.

04

Keep what works.

STILL DECIDING?

DON’T ASK, “WHAT SHOULD I BUY?”

Ask what is actually slowing the next opportunity down. The answer usually tells you which level — if any — makes sense.
